Do I need permits to finish a basement?

Usually, yes, especially with a bedroom or a bathroom. We handle the permits and the inspections as part of the project.

What about the low ceiling and the ductwork?

There are good answers: a painted-out ceiling with the joists exposed, soffits that hide the ducts and become part of the design, or a coffered ceiling that makes a feature of it. We show you the options at the consultation.

Can you add a bedroom down there?

Yes, with a proper egress window for safety and code. We take care of it.
